Standing on the shores of Lake Superior!

Just back from a wonderful vacation with Kathy and our new friends from Minnesota, Fred Grittner and Theresa Lippert.  Fred is a wonderful singer/string player/song writer and Theresa is an amazing artist in many ways also.  Thanks Fred and Theresa for the beautiful week.  Kathy and I loved it!  I also want to say "hello" to Kenda  also in Minnesota.  I'm beginning to discover that everybody in Minnesota just seem to be fantastic people!

                                                                                                "Studio One"                                                                      UPDATED!                                     "majormidi"

Hello!  Thank you so much for visiting my web site.  This site is dedicated to anything related to Midi (Musical Instrument Digital Interface), Recording and Composition!  I have been on a "mission" for quite a while, so I'm finally updating the site.  Midi is my particular love, although I do quite a bit of recording also. I hope you'll find some good "stuff" that is helpful.

I want to take a moment to thank the people who have "dropped" me email.  It is great to find "like-minded" individuals who love the creative aspects of recording and midi!  I've received e-mail from England, Scotland, Austria, Sweden, New Zealand, South Africa, Egypt, Russia and of course the US!  Currently, I'm involved in finally finishing my CD titled "Timeless Travels" which really means that I'm replacing all the old sounds from synthesizers that I used years ago with much more current sound..  It should have been completed over 3 years ago, but most of you know that the endless choices with midi gear make it darn near impossible to finally call a song completed.  And, I have finally realized that is my major weakness.  I never want to call a song complete.  I know that many of you out there are just like me but let me tell you right now that YOU ARE WRONG.  Don't worry about perfection!  Write the song, record the song and then when it feels right, just call it "completed".  I've started doing that and all of a sudden my musical output has tripled.

By the way, I have over 78 synth modules in my  studio.  While I still have a lot of hardware synth modules, my days of trading and sell are basically over..  I call my midi room "The Land of The Misfits:), because you might find anything from the most current pieces to spectacularly "weird" pieces!  Over the past two years, I have  actively writing been reviews on "softsynths".  Softsynths are  computer renditions of synth hardware except it is all played by a midi controller connected to your computer.  You can check out quite a few reviews that I've written  at www.cakewalknet.com .  Just click on the "Product Reviews" heading to see a number of my reviews. To help you find some of mine quickly, look for any of the "Arturia" reviews like "Jupiter-8V"or Native Instruments "Akoustic Piano".

Please take a few minutes and browse my site and if you have anything to contribute or  constructive suggestions, please, don't hesitate to let me know!

As it states above with the word "UPDATED!", I would like to point out that the "Bio Page" has seen major updates as well as some significant ones on the "Current Projects" page.  I also have a series of new photos on the Pictures page.  For some reason, my original page was completely wiped out of all html code and I just decided to redo the page.  Actually, I've put up two Pictures pages!  One is just smaller photos and you can decide if you want to click on the photos to see larger shots or not.  The other Photo Page is larger photos period!  I hope you enjoy it:-)

Thanks again for the nice emails that I received from so many of you.  I appreciate all of them and I try to answer as many as possible.  If I have failed to reply to you, please understand that it is quite possible that my Spam catcher or even this web site's spam catcher was responsible.  It wouldn't be the first time.  I always look through my spam just to try to make sure that I'm not missing your mail but it is possible that I didn't recognize your email topic.  Still, don't hesitate to send the email back to me because I would never intentionally not reply to anybody.

Best Regards and I wish you all Happy Trails and Great Musical Journeys!

                                                 Sincerely, Glen Heffner
