@ MidiScope (and Elsewhere (like Nashville!)
I Played On An Internationally
Released CD!
I'm thrilled to say that I recently
was asked by great Producer/Musician & Song Writer
Jon Tiven
(B.B.King, Wilson Pickett, Frank Black, Huey Lewis & The
News, The Jeff Healey Band, Leslie West, Rick Derringer, etc.) to play on a
couple of songs on a new CD project that he was producing for a fantastic blues
singer by the name of
Mason Casey.
Off to Nashville, TN. I went and working with Jon was
great. The new CD was released in September and was an International
Release! It has climbed as high as #6 on the International Blues Charts
and I was amazed to see my name on the CD along-side such greats as guitarist
Steve Cropper
(Booker T & The MG's, The Blue's Brothers), drummer
Chester Thompson,
(Genesis/Phil Collins, Weather Report, Frank Zappa and The Mothers, John Fogerty,
Neil Diamond, etc), keyboardist
Felix Cavaliere
(The Young Rascals), and other greats such as Don Covay,
Aaron Tuner, Anton Fig, Jimmy Johnson and don't forget Jon & Sally Tiven also.
The CD is great, (not because I play on a track), but because Mason Casey and
all of these other people are great and Jon Tiven is an incredible producer!
Here's a picture of the front cover of the CD

Great Title, Great Music. You can get this CD most
anywhere. ITunes, CD Universe, your local CD Stores. Pick up a copy!

Oh... so many years ago...., I decided that I wanted to
be in the "recording world".
Being a keyboard player, I guess it was a natural extension of my
interests. Studying first in New York and eventually
recording everywhere (from Todd Rundgren's Secret Sound to Studio in the
Country in Bogalusa, LA), I ended up with a degree in Piano and a lot of
engineering studies. Today, I own MidiScope a 24 track digital facility
which houses over 78 synth modules and 16 vintage midi keyboards (I told you
I was a keyboardist:) Since this is my first attempt at ever doing a home
page, I'm going to include lots of pictures.

I currently have a "production
deal" with a national record company. This basically
means that if they like my "final product",
they might release it nationally. That is something that
I dearly want, but not at the expense of the music. My
music might be classified as "instrumental jazz"
except there are many "pop hooks" as well as
classical slants in it. The main reason I have so many
synthesizers/modules is because I like to utilize them
much like a painter uses combinations of colors. Some of
my cheapest synths actually produce the most dramatic
results. If you're a musician, then you already know what
I mean.

New Update! - I am now working on several television advertisements.
I find it really interesting because the music HAS to fit the commercial.
I'm also finally finishing up my "Timeless Travels" CD. I'm sure many
of you are in the same "boat" as me, that is, you should have finished your
project a long time ago, but something just seems to stop you from calling
it finished...I don't know why I can't call a song complete...It's kinda
like proclaiming that you've found the largest number in the world and then
some kid says, "what happens if you add a "1" to it":)
My new mantra is: "YOU GOT TO TURN IT LOOSE"!
Newer Update! - I have now received my Sonica Audio Labs Neo 64 computer
and it rocks! This has inspired me to redo my complete album of music
using the latest softsynths. Look for my national release in 2009!
In addition, I am now writing reviews on softsynths
for
www.cakewalknet.com. I have pretty
much abandoned my hardware synths in favor of these "software synth
emulations". They can sound really amazing and it is great to
manipulate everything right on your computer. I'm using over 60
different softsynths and if you haven't tried them out yet, then I strongly
suggest that you test them out. Lots of the software companies offer
demos, so you really don't have anything to lose. Some of my favorites
are:

UPDATE!!!
- I'm finally finishing up my CD of instrumental songs. I have been in the
process of converting my studio back into a Midi Room again. The plan is
to have the CD completed by December 25th of this year. Recently, I
received a very nice e-mail from a gentleman in England. He wanted to know
what software I am currently using and I told him that I would post it here....so....
Sonar 7 Producer
Addition - This is Cakewalk's latest version
and it is ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!! They are the BIG BOYS NOW!
Cubase 4 -
Absolutely SMOKING Program. A MUST HAVE PROGRAM!
Sony Vegas Pro -
Another Great App!
Acid 4.0 - Awesome Looping
Program
Sony Sound Forge 8.0 - Solid
"Workhorse" Mastering Tool
Steinberg WaveLab 6.0 -
My Favorite Mastering Tool
Cakewalk Project 5
- A "favorite app" for "quick"composition!
There are other programs, but most of
my sequencing is being handled by Sonar and Cubase. I love the
simplicity and power of Sonar. At some point in my composing process, I usually
the song that I'm working on into Cubase 4. This allows me t utilize some
of the cool functions that Cubase offers. I thrive on being
able to manipulate my tunes by getting the best stuff that each program has to offer.
Oh,
I think that I should mention the other software that I'm using
also...
